The building, its location and a little historical background:
The Gesher Center in Mamilla, in central Jerusalem, is a unique guesthouse and conference center.
It serves as the focal point for educational and cultural activities for its guests, adults and young people alike, who are interested in building cultural bridges within Israeli society. The beauty of the Gesher Center in Jerusalem is in its integration of modern and traditional Jerusalem architectural styles. The building that houses the Gesher Center has been thoroughly renovated, and has gone from being a noteworthy architectural landmark to one of the most dynamic educational centers in the city. The modern part of the Center looks as though it has “grown” from the original building, which was constructed toward the end of the 19th century, and was one of the first buildings occupied by Jews from the Old City when they began to move outside its walls.
